About Portugal Holiday Homes
PKA Leisure Developments was formed in 2001 with the intention of building quality holiday homes in an area of Portugal, the Alentejo which we saw as perfect for those people who wanted to get away from the over development of Spain and the Algarve.
The first phase was completed 3 years ago and consisted of 8 detatched villas with a large communal pool, in landscaped gardens. The large Quinta was finished in 2007 and has been very warmly received by the first renters, see our testimonials.
The construction of the villas has been managed by Phil Rees and Kevin Calcutt. Phil is Managing Director of Keystone Planning and Development Ltd which was founded in Swansea in 1992. He has many years of experience in the construction industry and was previously a regional manager of Design and Materials Ltd., where he was responsible for organising construction projects for individual house builders. He was a frequent contributor to “Build It” magazine, and has presented numerous lectures at self-build exhibitions at Alexandra Palace in London.
His Company specialises in providing clients with a complete package of design, specification and construction, and has established an impressive reputation in the industry that is best highlighted by the primary source of the company's new projects, which is recommendation from architects and past clients.
Kevin Calcutt is a graduate of Aberystwyth University where he studied economics. Since then he has developed a very successful computer training business in London. As well as this he and his partner have developed a property portfolio in London and South Wales. Kevin also has a great deal of interest in landscaping as can be seen from the finished works at our site at Malhao Pardo where he designed and installed the irrigation systems.
Andrew Morris has a background in retail. After graduating, again from Aberystwyth, he trained with Marks and Spencers. At present he has a very successful, and well respected wine merchants in Swansea. An online wine business has also been established at www.cheerswinemerchants.co.uk. Andrew is the administrator within the Company and liaises with our Portuguese office. Andrew has developed the very successful rental side to our business with 2005 producing over 50 rentals for our clients on phase 1 at Malhao Pardo.
